Welcome to Word Catalyst

The goal of Word Catalyst is to present as many different forms of creative expression as possible for your enjoyment. The talent, beauty and heart of the magazine lies within its pages and stems from the talent of each and every contributor who strives to present you with their best work. The success of Word Catalyst is based solely on their abilities and a desire to share their creativity with you. My goal is simply to present to you what I believe to be extremely talented and dedicated individuals.

CHANGES/UPDATES AT WCM as of July, 2009

One of the major changes we have decided to make is in the short story department. We will no longer be accepting the traditional short stories. A shorter attention span of readers online combined with a shortage of reading time on our behalf has prompted me to request that you submit short short stories or flash fiction - preferably under 1,000 words. I think you will get more reads and we will get more sleep... it's a win/win situation!

Harry Furness has also added an artist directory this month so that you can access previous art pages without searching for them in the archives. We will expand on it as time permits... Thank you, Harry!

In the columnist department, we have added a new monthly columnist. Will Dixon is from Tennessee but claims he is being held hostage in Florida. Please take the time to read his column. His wit and wisdom are quite entertaining and informative. Welcome to Word Catalyst, Will!

We are working on some ideas to make the site more interactive. In the meantime I will be including your email address at the bottom of your submission unless you object. Many readers want to interact with writers and we're working towards that goal. As soon as we've looked at our options and chosen the best way to accomplish that goal we will proceed with it. Ahhhhh, so many options and so little time and money.... be patient with us!

Please enjoy the magazine. I invite you to return each month to read the offerings of our regular columnists and to check out the new talents as we unveil them.
