The Difference Between Cats & Dogs

The title makes this one obvious, so here goes!

A dog will jump at the door scratching, run in circles with his tongue hanging out with that look of pure joy when you arrive home from a hard day's work.
A cat might turn his head

A dog will be overcome with a look of terror and immediately run if he sees you've discovered he peed on the rug
A cat will wait until you've begun cleaning up the spot, then pee again while you're looking

A dog will lick his chops and jump up and down in anticipation of being fed while you open the can
A cat will wait until he knows you're not around and then eat just to bug you

A dog will lay down beside you while you're napping just to keep you company
A cat will place his rear end one inch from your face just before you wake up and leave it there until just prior to you being fully conscious

A dog will chase a stick if you throw it
A cat might turn his head

A dog will chase you if you run
A cat will lay down and watch you run

A dog will attack anyone who tries to kill you
A cat will wonder if the new guy will feed him better

A dog brings you the paper
A cat uses the paper to sharpen his claws

A dog will stick with you through thick and thin
A cat doesn't know you from the Mailman

A dog can tell if you're ill
A cat can't tell if you're dead

A dog will wake you if there's a fire in the house
A cat might turn his head

Not to be completely one-sided in my little comparison here, there are some positive things I can say about cats.

A cat will rarely wake the neighbor meowing at another cat
A cat covers his doodie (of-course we must overlook the eye watering odor, the 3 buckets of sand spilled out of the kitty box and the footprints on the rug created from Muffin stepping in his doodie while covering it)
A cat can offer hours of enjoyment (if hacking up hairballs amuses you)

and finally… few tears will be shed and no work days missed when Mittens passes into Kitty Heaven
