Poetry by Jo A. True-Burkholder

In The Shadows Of The Night

In the shadows of the night,
our busy day is put to rest.
Beneath the soft moonlight.

Beautiful his vision to my sight.
I heed his beckoning call,
in the shadows of the night.

My caress to his skin of ivory white.
I hear my lover's gentle sighs,
beneath the soft moonlight.

Rising emotions take to flight.
As we move in sensual cadence,
in the shadows of the night.

We embrace each other tight.
Remembering the love we made,
beneath the soft moonlight.

I hold dreams of my lover's delight,
where words of love's passions are written.
In the shadows of the night,
beneath the soft moonlight.
