Poetry, ramblings and real life by Shirley Whiting Allard
I had initially intended to do an extensive makeover of the site in October. After much thought, I realized that I prefer to continue providing a clean, uncluttered place where your work is the main focus of the page. We have worked very hard to achieve this and have received many compliments from our readers on the look and feel of the site as well as the ease of navigation we have provided. Therefore, if it works... why fix It? We have added some new staff members this month including a short story editor, Noah Champoux; a non-fiction editor, Ruth Hill; and a flash fiction editor, Jo Janoski. Please see our submission guidelines or about page for updated information and how to submit to these categories. Due to these changes, we will begin accepting short stories once again with the December issue. Also, we would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest columnist, Mark DePietro. Welcome to Word Catalyst, Mark! Finally, I am pleased to announce that we have been listed as one of the top 25 markets in two categories at Duotrope's Digest under Most Approachable and Swiftest Response Time. Thanks for your reports to Duotrope's!
Please enjoy the magazine. I invite you
to return each month to read the offerings of our regular columnists
and to check out the new talents as we unveil them. Thank you for reading Word Catalyst Magazine!
