The
Poetry Of Terry McDermott
FROM THE ADVENTURES OF THE HUMAN CARDINAL
In our last episode, "Live From the Aquarium," Blue
Tornado Boy defeated the tie-dyed hippie wrestler Kent Cool for
the golden belt. Yet he didn't celebrate very long. The giant
Viking Derek the Red entered The Aquarium, at Seahorse City,
and demanded a challenge.
What will the Blue Wonder do?
Read on and find out.
- Blue
Tornado Boy Meets Derek the Red
- (This was done in poetic form called Fibonacci.)
Derek
The Red
Entered The Aquarium
Blue Tornado Boy trembled with fear
As the giant evil Viking waved his pitchfork
Yet our blue hero knew he could not runaway from this deadly
challenge
The
Bell rang
Blue Wonder's speed
Could not withstand Derek's strength
In mere seconds the bell was ringing again
Now the seven-foot Viking with long red hair was the Universal
Champion
Quickly
He grabbed
The golden belt
Fleeing upon his black stallion
The audience at The Aquarium were beyond excitement
Blue Tornado Boy had been beaten yet he did not run in fear
Next month we will return to Brooke Meadow
Lane with the Human Cardinal and the rest of the gang. From Seahorse
City Derek the Red went to a place called Tulip Town and his
life was changed. You can find those adventures in previous issues.

I just discovered this form of poetry,
each verse is three lines based on one, two, three word count,
and no line limit. This form is called Janaku, created by Eileen
Tobias.
