The Poetry Of Ekho
Sama
Gear Shift
Beneath the stars are stripes on strips
of road all daunting,
Haunting earthly men and mortals much
Trees are meteors, with the shifter steering,
Disappearing below the withered clutch.
The foot floored the fire flower petal
Metal did that petal touch.
Touching the road were infernos turning
Burning were the fire tires, burning up with such
Icy antiquity 'phrozen' beneath the burning clutch.
No comet shining snow has ever burned as much.
Ekho Sama is an Malaysian
American teenager attending college. He has hopes of one day
publishing his poetry. He currently enjoys skateboarding, soccer,
sketching, and making videos.
