As
A Soldier
May God keep you in his watchful eye
and be always at your side.
As a soldier you serve, with a strong reserve
of dignity and pride.
With faith in God and country,
and convictions firmly planted,
As a soldier you fight, to preserve the rights
we have come to take for granted.
We are proud to be called Americans,
You honor our commitment to freedom,
As a soldier who tries, without compromise,
to excel in your efforts to be one.
We keep you in our hearts and prayers,
may you never feel alone.
As a soldier have faith, God will keep you safe,
til you find your way back home.

Corrupt
Memory
I once was the boss
of a very fine crew
they worked hard they did
making fabric of blue.
Would you call my Dad
and tell him for me
that I'm a big boy
not to worry about me.
Sometimes we made pink
but that was sent out
I don't know where I am
can you please let me out.
I must call my mother
she'll be out of her mind
if I don't come right home
at my regular time.
You see out that window
where the elderly go
I once visited there
It's a fine place you know.
Someday when I'm too old
to live on my own
I just might consider
a stay at that home.
Can you unlock this door
I need to go through
I once was the boss
of a very fine crew...
Author's Note: Alzheimer's is a devastating disease
but if you listen with your heart you will hear a lifetime in
a few short moments.

I
Think, Therefore I Am In Trouble
As nature rages, they thumb through the
pages
For a prophecy written in stone
But nature engages, as she has through the ages
In unforeseen rants of her own.
It comforts the soul, and enforces the
goal
To portray it as something divine
As the century grows old, the truth will unfold
And me thinks in the end we will find
The destruction of us, will be not by command
But the result of our own misguided hand.
