Halloween Reindeer

All the elves trembled
When the black reindeer was born
Alone in his youth
Christmas just didn't fit him
So he moved to Maine
Where his darkness blended well
And he found a special task
Candy on antlers
He did on Halloween night
Kids grabbed the candy
Until his antlers were bare
Birth can misplace one
Yet destiny can be found
If one is willing to search

Icy's Sorrow

Away from his world for many years,
Icy the Bat became homesick.
His tiny blue eyes cried frozen tears,
The ice king had made an edict,
He could never return to Cong.
To hear those Congite native songs.
Sorrow within his mind was thick.

Author's Note: More to come next month.

Icy the Bat

A planet made of ice
Beams in the darkness of space
Cong is a place of eternal winter
Dew is always in the air
Eskimo clothing is worn by the natives
Freezing rain all year around
Gum drops grow on frozen trees
Heat is a rare commodity
Icy the Bat came from Cong
Journey to other places was his dream
Kneeling before the ice King
Leaving Cong was his request
Making a decree
Never to return
Options lay before him
Putting the ice world behind him
Quests to other places lay ahead
Reaching for his dreams
Stars by the millions
The size of the
Universe
Vastness cannot describe it
World after world
X to mark the stop never came
Years passed
Zeal to travel stayed with Icy.

Special Note: This is a poetic form called ABC Poetry. Icy the Bat was my daughter Anna's creation.
